Coach Terrell has worked with my 17 year old son for the past three years and is responsible for his improvement not just as a basketball player, but as an athlete in general.
For a teenager to want to get up early in the morning before school starts, or in the summer despite being on vacation, there has to be a good reason! My son is highly motivated for these workouts despite the early hours, and while they are challenging and tiring, he always has fun and continues to go back for more.
Coach Terrell Teophile has been one of the realest coach I’ve ever had in my young basketball career. He was my assistant coach of northern New Mexico college for my senior year and from day one he told me that he will be hard on me and pushing my limits every single day in order for me to get better as a basketball player and as a man. He taught me that in life you’ll meet a lot of people that might not want you to be successful as them but that it is good to always focus on yourself and get the positive out of any situation. I would like to play ball overseas and thanks to his advice and his own experience I can reach my goal and I know what to expect. Working with him has been a great benefit for me to improve on my weaknesses and strengthening my strength. He has been like a mentor and that’s exactly what I needed for my senior year. He has done for me things (outside of basketball) things that I can’t even be thankful enough for. He is someone that I trust 110% and I know even after my college basketball career I can still reach him out and ask him advice.
I could not recommend him highly enough, I appreciate everything he has done for me, and continues to do for me!
Under Coach Terrell, my son improved his vertical jump, increased his strength significantly, and refined his shot.
Terrell is beyond knowledgeable in every area of the game and is capable of developing players of every position. Training with Terrell is always fun. His drills are unique and tailored to each player. If you are looking for not only a basketball mentor, but a life mentor, as well, you will find all of that and more in Terrell Theophile. I simply cannot speak highly enough of him and all he has invested in me.
Having Coach Terrell “T” Teophile as my coach was simply one of the greatest blessings in my basketball career. With his direction, I was easily able to define my personal, and professional goals, prepare for every aspect of criticism, and learn how to get through adversity. Coach T is truly a role model, mentor, teacher, and great friend of mine. The two years he spent as my head coach were truly special, he always pushed my limits, and never let me settle for the bare minimum because he seen greatness in me that I didn’t see in myself. Coach T has that kill or be killed mindset that I grew up with but didn’t really understand until he explained it to me. I can honestly say I wouldn’t be the player that I am today without him. Coach T’s positive energy is inspiring with his life lessons that go outside of basketball.
Perhaps the most unique and important aspect of Coach Terrell’s training style is his ability to instill confidence in young athletes; he teaches them to believe in themselves, he pushes them to be their best version of themselves, and teaches them to not dwell in the past but to move on and learn from each mistake.
Lastly, Coach Terrell is not just a coach, but rather a mentor and a role model for these young athletes; kids look up to him and are hungry to learn from his expertise, they seek his advice and respect him immensely. I highly recommend him.
“My son Tyler Quintana, class of 2019, has been working out with Terrell for about 7 years. Terrell has been a major part of Tyler’s basketball achievements. His knowledge of the game, and what he has and continues to teach Tyler, is amazing. Tyler was offered a few different full ride scholarships in basketball. I highly recommend that if you want your son or daughter to take their basketball career to the highest level possible, that you get with him immediately! I’ve had multiple people noticed Tyler‘s growth, and Terrell is a big part of that. Terrell has also been a huge part of Tyler becoming a better person off the court as well. Not only does he work Tyler out but he’s supported him in attending a lot of his high school and club games as well. He’s also taken his time to take Tyler to some out of state club tournaments in Texas, Colorado & Atlanta, just the two of them. He checks in on him regularly to see how he’s doing even if Tyler hasn’t worked out in a few weeks. I fully trust him with Tyler whether they’re in New Mexico or Anywhere out of state. He cares about his players becoming great athletes but more importantly great people.”
When I first met Terrell, I was entering my junior year of high school and desperately searching for a coach to assist my transition from a center to a shooting guard. Terrell immediately impacted my game in every area – from shooting, to ball handling, to defense, as well as perfecting my post moves. He has dedicated countless hours to my development as a player and a person. To this day, Terrell consistently calls to check on me and lend some words of wisdom.
I was searching for a coach/trainer to assist my daughter with her 3 pt shooting. My friend showed me videos of how well his son was shooting and told me that Terrell Theophile had been working with him and gave me his number.
Once we met Terrell we didn’t look any further. He was professional and on task. He worked on so much more than just shooting. He made her work hard and taught her drills and skills that she was able to use as she transitioned into college. She was well prepared because of all he taught her.
He not only prepared her for what was ahead physically he prepared her mentally. He gave her sound advice and told her what to expect from her coaches and a grueling schedule.
Terrell showed up to her games when he could and was there for her when she won her state championship and also when she signed her NLI to college. To this day Terrell calls to check on her and to be a sounding board when she is have problems with team/coach/school and missing home.
He truly has been more than a coach, he has been a good friend who actually cares.
I would recommend Terrell to anyone who wants to take their game to the next level or just want to level up on skills.
Great Coach, great mentor, great friend!
Coach Terrell is diligent about cross training, not just focusing on one skill, but providing a well-rounded training program; his sessions include agility drills, footwork, conditioning, shooting skills and more.
